Gerrit Knaap at MACo Conference

NCSG Executive Director Gerrit Knaap participated in a forum at the Maryland Association of Counties’  (MACo) annual conference, in Ocean City on Friday, August 17th. Dr. Knaap was joined by Governor Hogan’s special secretary of smart growth, Wendi Peters, Delegate Steve Lafferty, and Deborah Carpenter, Garrett County Planning Director. The forum participants discussed the past and future of smart growth policies in the state, and their work was covered both in The Daily Record and on MACo’s Conduit Street Blog . The participants also discussed the Maryland Department of Planning’s state development plan, A Better Maryland.
